This template rocks! & Some Rarely available Facts.

Sunday, March 26th, 2006 by himanshu

I always wanted similar type of template in my blog. Though it's not wat I actually wanted but still it's not that bad in looks+functionality as provided by other templates of the wordpress. Now i m desparately waiting for the moment when wordpress will allow us to customize our blog like blogger.

Looking at this I jst remembered the template which i once created for our 200 site during felicity time which had one sidebar along with bottom bar.

These are some of the rarely available pics/fact that i got thru a forwarded mail. Quite Impressive!

1) Tim Berners Lee — Founder of the World Wide Web

2) Picture taken when microsoft was started

3) Steve Woznaik(sitting) and Steve Jobs of APPLE Computers.
He was three months late in filing a name for the business because he didn't get any better name for his new company.
So one day he told to the staff: "

If I'll not get better name by 5 o'clcok today, our company's name will be anything he likes…"

so at 5 o'clcok nobody comeup with better name, and he was eating APPLE that time…
so he keep the name of the company

'Apple Computers'

4) Bill Hewlett(L) and Dave Packard(R) of HP.
Behind them in the picture is the famous HP Garage.
Bill
Hewlett and Dave Packard tossed a coin to decide whether the company
they founded would be called Hewlett-Packard or Packard-Hewlett.
And the winner was

NOT
Bill… the winner was Dave.

5) Ken Thompson (L)and Dennis Ritchie(R) ,creators of UNIX.
Dennis Ritchie improved on the B programming language and called it 'New B'.
B was created by Ken Thompson as a revision of the Bon programming language (named
after his wife Bonnie)
He later called it C.

6) Larry Page(L) and Sergey Brin(R), founders of Google.
Google was originally named 'Googol'.
After founders (Stanford graduates) Sergey Brin and Larry Page presented their project to an angel investor…
they received a cheque made out to 'Google' !…
So they kept name as GOOGLE

7) Gordon Moore(L) and Bob Noyce(R) ,founders of Intel.
Bob Noyce and Gordon Moore wanted to name their new company 'Moore Noyce'.
But that was already trademarked by a hotel chain…
So they had to settle for an acronym of INTegrated ELectronics…
INTEL

8) Andreas Bechtolsheim , Bill Joy, Scott Mc Nealy and Vinod Khosla of SUN(StanfordUniversity Network) MicroSystems.
Founded by four StanfordUniversity buddies.
Andreas Bechtolsheim built a microcomputer;
Vinod Khosla recruited him;
Scott McNealy to manufacture computers
based on it;
and Bill Joy to develop a UNIX-based OS for the computer…

SUN

is the acronym for
Stanford University Network
.

9)
Linus Torvalds of Linux Operating System Linus Torvalds originally used
the Minix OS on his system which he replaced by his OS.
Hence the working name was Linux (Linus' Minix).
He thought the name to be too egotistical and planned to name it Freax (free + freak + x).
His friend Ari Lemmk encouraged Linus to
upload it to a network so it could be easily downloaded.
Ari gave Linus a directory called linux on his FTP server, as he did not like the name Freax.
Linus like that directory name and he kept the name of his new OS to LINUX…

10) Picture taken when
INFY
was started. This picture was found in the album of the clerk who took this picture…
The
picture was with that clerk only because it was his birthday and he
just told everyone to stand together at one place to take a pic.
He borrow a camera from his friend and as he can not tell
any of his boss to take pic, so he took pic by himself… even it was
his birthday.

AND THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN WHEN SUPERHIT
SHOLEY
WAS STARTED……

They were looking at asrani when he was doing practice first time with his funny Jailer's dress… ALONE on one rock…

PS: Finally , I made changes on my personal domain which I bought last yr. Now I think wat was so hurry to buy that :(( ..

I love this guy..

Tuesday, March 7th, 2006 by himanshu

He started his venture from Hotmail, failed on Arzoo once and still not letting his hands go off the “hot” technologies. He is an ideal idol for me and for every indian technologist. Yes! I am talking about Sabeer Bhatia who once walked away with the $400 million and that too ten years ago. Recently i came across an article on Sabeer on the launch of his another venture BlogEverywhere.com along with Shiraz Kanga, a former employee of Cisco.
Apart from revving up Hotmail, Blogeverywhere’s application software will help you access blogs and retrieve real site syndication (RSS) feeds faster. Whether his new ventures will help Hotmail regain some of its lost lustre isn’t clear but Bhatia isn’t unduly bothered.
Well, I was highly impressed by the enterpreneur skills that this guy has and still remember the wise words which he said in his talk at iiit — “I only need my laptop and an internet connection and I can work and live forever in any part of the world”.

Bangalore, Filmfare & BLACK

Tuesday, February 28th, 2006 by himanshu

Last weekend I visited Bangalore for the second time. Nice place with such a nice crowd and yes.. better than hyderabad. The most impressive thing that I noticed is the people looking like professionals talking professional and apart from that the way they talk also seems to be a real professional I must say.. Don’t believe ? better checkout this . Now if I start comparing between Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad then definitely the things will come down to TRAFFIC. Though traffic of Delhi has improved alot due to MetroRail (Thanks to Sheila Dixit and Central govt) but it’ll take few more yrs to make it a world class city.
MG Road .. Times Square at Bangalore . A nice place to spend an evening . I was roaming at MG road for arnd 3 hrs on stretch and still wasn’t feeling tired at all. A pizza at Dominoz made the visit more splendid. Also visited Bangalore Central which is more or less similar to Hyderabad one except that is doesn have any multiplex like PVR in HC.
The thing I need to mention now is the pretty weather of bangalore. I can still remember my last visit to Bangalore arnd 3 yrs b4 and that too in the month of May n u know wat ? the weather was arnd 26 deg C then . :o
Now the Forum Mall.. was jst like other malls and with a PVR multiplex :) The Food Court is good and you may observe many outlets there which you may not have seen earlier. The LandMark is also good but only if you can shell out large chunk of money for things you are not in habit to buy at such places.
Awww.. McChicken at McDonalds is worth eating especially if you are having it after say 2-3 months .I really miss McD at Hyderabad (y can’t they have atleast one outlet here at hyd)
Now the Filmfare ! I didn’t know that Filmfare was supposed to come on the day of my landing to bangalore. I always miss the opportunity to watch Filmfare awards. I can only say few words after watching it this time . .. “The BLACK lady didn’t want to color herself in some other color.”
The movie Black bagged arnd 11 Filmfare awards .. now that is something unusual. Gr8 direction by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Acc to me the only category where Black cudn get the award was the best music , singer etc .. due to black out of songs in it . :) and Rani Mukherjee was really looking pretty in that white saree. :)

“Time is Precious! “. “Time and Tide waits for nobody” .. Now I came to know about the cent percent truth of these statement. I think i seriously need to manage time efficiently these days. Though I am getting a bit philosophical but believe me .. there’s nothing good you can achieve without any sacrifice..
So from now onwards I make a commitment to sleep early.(atleast i can improve)

go Live

Sunday, November 27th, 2005 by himanshu

Well, what to say .. i thought that i’ll not write these silly blogs anymore but actually WordPress solved my long long awaited problem. I was searching for a javascript that is used to post some data to the site without switching to the new page. I was totally oblivious of this technology which even google used to make somewhat live experience to user. For all those who dont know ,the technology is termed as AJAX ie Asynchronous JavaScript And XML which is used to post data in background without changing the page and hence don’t require you to do download the same HTML again n again .. kewl na :) ..
In all, last sem and this sem I’ve learnt too much .. I shud rather say this was the time when I grasped many of the latest and happening technologies.I am proud of myself :D
enuf show off 8-) now coming back to normal life i’ve decided to use only wordpress to post and not blogspot . may be i switch to blogspot if they are wise enuf to provide some good features like this.
